We are

We support grass-roots education initiatives in developing countries with the ultimate goal of total self-sustainability.

Currently, we provide financial support for Sowers School in Bukavu, DR Congo, as well as professional training for staff and administrators.

Education
Not only do we help provide a K-6 education, the buildings are also used for tutoring, English classes, and other extra curricular community development. The Sowers school is literally at the center of the community, a fertile learning ground educating tomorrow’s Congolese leaders.

Locally Grown
The blood, sweat, tears, and each resource of the People of Sowers in Bukavu has already gone into the school for the last five years. In every respect, it’s their school; we don’t “import” American administrators or staff, which sets us apart from the majority of NGO’s operating in the region.

Entrepreneurial
Taking our cue from the adage “if you teach a man to fish,” we provide opportunities for long-term sustainability through education. which helps the school to develop income and eventual autonomy.
 
Focused on Needs
With Bukavu literally caught in the crossfire of local wars, it has become increasingly difficult for traditional NGO’s to reach. Our mission of supporting local grass roots elementary schools in these volatile areas helps provide much needed education, development, and outreach to which they would otherwise not have access.

Our partners include the very best and most successful outreach organizations operating in the area of Bukavu and around the globe. With our niche focus and our partners’ network and ability, the Sowers School has the agility and efficiency of a small family unit, but the power and backing of a national organization.
